I worked a day job as long as I could; my fast growing startup needed me to leave the day job. I’m in a startup now which is doing well and in my particular situation, which you may find yourself in one day soon enough, over 50 and let go several times on day 90, we sometimes have to make it work. What you left out is what is easy and what is hard. What is easy is the day job, trust me on that. That is what you were trying to express. I’d say you’re mostly lucky. Not everybody has choices.
