Is The Miami Tech Scene Real This Time Around?
I, like many South Floridian members of the tech community, have heard these words before, “The Miami Tech Scene Is Blossoming... If you are thinking about moving to Miami for the new tech scene read on carefully and take everything I say to heart because I want it to be true.
We’ve heard there is something brewing called the Miami Tech Scene…that we are in for a wild ride of tech startups, Silicon Valley parties, and VCs banging on our doors! It’s like the ghosts of tech startup mania past are back to haunt us.
Will dollars from Sandhill Road or Mountain View or wherever you guys come from be hiring us and funding us in South Florida for the next best Google venture and create a zillion tech jobs? That has always been the dream!
But let’s get real (as Jason Fried of Basecamp and Ruby on Rails puts it).
Here are the facts. We’ve been through this before. Several times already. I’ve heard almost every prediction and previous iteration of this before.
